Mini notebook computers are the latest excellent thing to hit the computing field for the typical user. You see them everywhere and students love them. They're so much easier to carry around than a full-size laptop. But will they really do what you have in mind? Are they the best option for you?

Something else to consider is the size of the screen. Obviously, with a smaller unit comes a smaller monitor, which for some may not be a problem. But if you are used to larger print it may take some getting used to. It could be on the smallest screens available on mini notebooks that you just can't see all of a webpage at one time and you will find that annoying.

Also, ensure to check out the keyboard. Women tend to not have much of an issue here, but for many of men this could be a deal killer. Men normally have larger fingers which have quite a bit of difficulty making their way comfortably across the keys. This is one reason why talking to different people about the same product might not yield the best suggestions for you.

Spend some time typing on some of the models of mini notebook computers and see if you typing skills reduce greatly. Some netbooks have built their keyboards in such a way that the keys are flat and with little to no space between the keys making it easy for the bigger fingered of us to hit more than one key at a time. Annoying.

However, if you look around you might find one that slightly raises the keyboard and but space between the keys making touch typing on these smaller computers much easier.

The wonderful thing about mini notebook computers are their compact design making them simple to haul around with you. You just have to make sure that their performance isn't compromised in return.
